Ivey Wins 11th WSOP Gold Bracelet

by Staff
Phil Ivey

Look out, Phil Hellmuth.

On Thursday, Phil Ivey defeated Danny Wong heads up in the $10,000 2-7 Triple Draw event at the 2024 World Series of Poker, earning $347,440 and his 11th gold bracelet. He separated himself from Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan, and the recently deceased Doyle Brunson, who have 10 bracelets apiece, and is now six behind the all-time leader Hellmuth (17).

“Anytime winning a World Series of Poker event is always special,” Ivey said after the win. “I’ve been playing the World Series of Poker 25 years now. I love to play. I play as much as I can.”

The 47-year-old Poker Hall of Famer now has more than $10 million in earnings at the WSOP, and $45 million worldwide. His 11 WSOP bracelets are in nine different variants of poker — surprisingly, non of them are No-Limit Hold’em.

The big question now is can Ivey catch Phil Hellmuth? Hellmuth is the top dog with 17 WSOP gold bracelets, but only has three small cashes this summer and no major cashes in 2024.
