Michel Dattani defeated fellow Portuguese native Pedro Neves heads up in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event this week, winning $1,316,963. The two made a heads-up deal, and Neves also walked away a millionaire with $1,183,037. Dattani, who started playing PokerStars live events in 2010, was in disbelief after the win.
“I can’t believe this really happened,” he told PokerNews. “It’s so tough to go through all these days. To go through such a big field. You only believe it when you get there.”
The first PCA Main Event in four years drew 889 entries at Baha Mar Resort in the Bahamas, generating a massive prize pool of $8,623,300. Dattani was joined at the final table by two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Taylor Paur and World Poker Tour champion Jonathan Little. Both players banked six figures for their efforts:
